A Longing

I have some somewhat outlandish goals that linger in the back of my heart, tucked somewhere between my deepest fears and most painful shames. I feel like if I share on of them maybe they'll somehow spring new legs and inch toward a more prominent position inside my cardio-walls.

One of my goals is to write book. My problem is, what about? There are several topics that stir me... but there seem to be so many books out there, especially of the Christian type. There is no way I'm going to put another "self-help" book on the shelf, or another book about how special women are to God or how to be the most amazing wife ever. Some of these topics seem to be completely exhausted. I see a great need for more poetry that creates a longing for Him, glorifies Him, and that reflects the struggle of trying to live for Him...and is quality. In general, I would like to see more amazing authors who are Christians but perhaps their work doesn't necessarily only focus on "Christian" themes and topics--along the lines of C.S. Lewis and Tolkien.

I think it's pretty doubtful I'll be the next Lewis...but for now my prayer is that my pen would grow wings and that God would revive my love for and knack for writing.
